Novitec Rosso is a German aftermarket tuner, mostly known for modifying Ferrari’s finest. We’re no strangers to their work. Last year we saw the insane F12 Novitec Rosso but it seems as though they’ve managed to outdo themselves this year.
Novitec recently unveiled something called the N-LARGO. Taking a Ferrari 488 and equipping it with a massive body kit is one thing, but Novitec went one step further and tuned the engine to the extent of 770 horsepower. It’s available in GTB (coupe) and Spyder (convertible) trim.
Let’s start with the exterior. As you can notice from the image above, the 488 in the picture is a long way off being completely stock. Novitec has fitted the 488 platform with a rather striking body kit, expanding the quarter panels, bumpers and even adding extra aero. Although it looks amazing, they had to widen the car so that it would be able to accommodate the massive NL hi-tech forged 22-inch wheels. At 209 centimeters wide, the N-LARGO 488 is exactly 14 centimeters (5.5 inches) wider than the factory car.
For an additional cost, Novitec will tinker with the engine, tuning its ECU, boost level and injection timing, bumping the power value to the above-mentioned 770 horsepower. Naturally, a spike in power means a higher top speed. In this case, that’s 342 km/h (212 mph).
Potential owners can custom-tailor the interior to their own liking, choosing between various materials and over a dozen color options. There’s even a Front Lift system option, raising the car’s nose by a few inches to make it clear bumps and curbs easier.
To cope with the added firepower, Novitec has wrapped the N-LARGO’s wheels in 225-section ZR 21 tires at the front and 335-section ZR 22 tires at the rear. They’ve also created three new grill-shaped slots in the top of the front fenders to help the brakes cool off a lot more effectively.
Ferrari is yet to release the highly-anticipated ‘Speciale’ edition of the 488, but the N-LARGO certainly seems to fill in that gap for the time being. With 102 horsepower more than the stock 488, it’s definitely not lacking in power. Just 11 examples of each variant will be built (GTB and Spyder), but we’re guessing all of them are already sold out. Still, if you want one, feel free to contact Novitec over on their website:
