Lumia Sales Sees Growth
A record high for Nokia as Lumia sales look positive. The company announced that 8.8 million devices have been sold in Q3. Nokia generated revenues in the U.S of $7.79 billion. Things are slowly turning around for Nokia. It seems as if the 1.4 million units of the lower-end Lumia 521 and 520 are helping Nokia to put more of their devices into customers hands. The 6 inch Lumia 1520 seeks to go head to head with the Samsung Galaxy Note series, HTC One Max to help the company gain traction in that market segment.
Also in Q3 Apple sold more than 33.8 million iPhones, Samsung shipped 88.4 million. Nokia will need to see more Lumia sales if the company wants to compete head to head with the top two smartphone manufactures. Nokia’s finance chief Timo Ihamuotila Stated to the company’s investors “We continue to see competitive challenge at the higher-end of the market, both in terms of pricing and required marketing support,” Nokia seems to be more focused and determine now, since the deal with Microsoft. Consumers are waiting to see what the future holds for Nokia.
