The 2019 iPhones are official, and there’s quite a bit you need to know about them. Apple launched three iPhones this year- the iPhone 11, the iPhone 11 Pro and the iPhone 11 Pro Max.
The iPhone 11 is the successor to the iPhone XR while the iPhone 11 Pro and the iPhone 11 Pro Max are the successor to the iPhone XS and XS Max respectively. In this article, let’s find out what’s different between the Pro and the Pro Max variants. And more importantly, which one you should your money on.
Main Differences Between The Two New iPhones
The cameras on both models are also the same.
Both the phones get the triple camera setup on the back.
An ultra-wide-angle lens joins the wide-angle lens and the telephoto lens from the last year iPhones.
So, what’s different?
Three things separate the two phones- Screen Size, Battery, and Price.
As the name suggests, the iPhone 11 Pro MaxiPhone 11 Pro Max has a larger display when compared to the iPhone 11 Pro.
The Pro Max has a 6.5-inch display while the Pro has a 5.8-inch display.
Both the phones use the same Super Retina XDR OLED Display technology. These new iPhones can reach a peak brightness of 1200 nits and can display HDR10 content.
The larger iPhone is also heavier by 38gm. While it may not sound much on paper, the difference is quite significant while you hold these phones on hand.
The larger battery on the iPhone 11 Pro Max is the sole reason why I would choose the larger phone instead of, the smaller iPhone 11 Pro.
The regular Pro variant by no means has terrible battery life. In fact, with this iteration, Apple claims you can get up to 4 hours more usage per charge.
It’s just that the 11 Pro Max will have even better battery life.
Apple is also shipping the new iPhones with an 18W fast charger. These are the first iPhones to see a departure from the 5W charger Apple has been shipping with the iPhones for years, and that’s a great thing.
You are paying a $100 premium for a larger display and a larger battery.
Is it worth spending $100 on a larger iPhone? For me, yes.
But it’s not going to be for everyone. Not everyone wants to carry a larger phone. People with small hands will want to go for the smaller iPhone 11 Pro. Just make sure to visit the Apple store and try out these new 2019 iPhones before making your purchase decision.
