Daylight Savings

Daylight Savings Time! a date many of us look forward to every year. Don’t forget to set your clocks 1 hour behind on November 3 at 2:00-am for those of you living in Canada and the U.S.A.  Many of us have smartphones and such that will automatically set the time back according to your network provider.

Daylight Savings Benefits

Daylight savings is said to provide benefits to the retailing sector, sports and anything else that utilizes daytime activities. Most of us just like it because of that extra hour of sleep you get. It can be quite depressing sometimes as it can get dark very early, making 5 pm feel like 9 pm. If you were to compare the position of the Sun in June, and compare it in December at the same time, you could see that the Sun would be visible longer than it would be in December. So The length of the day is different over the course of the year due to the rotation axis of the Earth not being parallel to the orbit axis around the sun. I am hoping that shorter sunlight times will make the Comet ISON appear even more spectacular than it is supposed to be, if it stays on its current course.

However the extra hour of sleep will be a welcome thing once Daylight Savings time ends on November 3, 2013.
